Privacy Notice

Effective

Who we are

This notice explains how HemeDuo ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit hemeduo.com or send email to an address at hemeduo.com. For any question about this notice or your information, contact us at info@hemeduo.com.

Information we collect

When you visit the site

  • Usage information, collected with Google Analytics: the pages you view, whether you select the link to our introduction video, the website that referred you, your browser, device type and screen size, and your approximate location (such as city or region), which Google derives from your IP address. Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses.
  • Technical information processed by our hosting provider, Google Firebase Hosting, including your IP address and details of each request, to deliver pages and protect the service.

When you email us

Your name and email address, the content of your message and any attachments, and the technical details that travel with email, such as the sending server.

The site has no forms, accounts or payments. Please do not send us personal health information by email.

Cookies

For most visitors, Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier, which tell visits apart and expire after two years.

For visitors in the European Union, the rest of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics cookies are turned off, and Google Analytics receives only limited measurement that uses no cookies or identifiers.

We do not use advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

How we use information

  • To operate, maintain and secure the site.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used and which content is useful.
  • To read and reply to your messages.

Advertising features and Google signals are turned off in Google Analytics. We do not sell or share personal information, as those terms are defined in United States privacy laws, and we do not use it to make automated decisions about you.

Legal bases

Where the data protection laws of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom apply, we rely on our legitimate interests in running a secure website, understanding how it is used without setting cookies on your device, and responding to enquiries. If you contact us about a possible agreement, we may also rely on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Service providers and international transfers

Google (Firebase Hosting and Google Analytics) and Amazon Web Services (receiving and storing email) process information on our behalf under contract. Email is forwarded to our team's mailboxes, which are hosted by email providers including Google. These providers may process information in the United States and other countries.

Google and Amazon Web Services participate in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, its UK Extension and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and provide standard contractual clauses for international transfers.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or to a successor in a merger, acquisition or reorganisation, which would remain bound by this notice.

How long we keep information

  • Google Analytics event data is kept for 14 months and then deleted. Reports built from it contain only aggregated figures.
  • Hosting request records are kept for Google's standard retention periods.
  • Stored copies of email received at hemeduo.com are deleted two years after receipt. Copies in our team's mailboxes are kept only as long as the correspondence and our legal and business records require.

Security

The site is served only over HTTPS. Incoming email is accepted only over encrypted connections and stored encrypted, and access is limited to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the information we hold.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw any consent you have given.

To make a request, email info@hemeduo.com. We respond within 30 days and may first need to confirm your identity. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live, such as the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or a supervisory authority in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom.

Children

The site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Links to other websites

Our introduction video is hosted on YouTube. The site links to it rather than embedding it, so YouTube receives nothing from your visit here unless you follow the link, after which YouTube's privacy policy applies.

Changes to this notice

We post changes on this page and update the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
